Personal workspace vs organization
Everything you do in Syntic happens inside an organization. Every account gets one automatically, its personal workspace, and you can create or join more. The organization you have selected decides whose plan pays for your usage, who else can see shared work, and which billing settings apply.
Your personal workspace
- Created for you when you sign up, on the Free plan.
- You are its owner.
- Good for trying Syntic on your own, or for personal use alongside a company organization.
- You can upgrade it to a paid plan like any other organization.
Other organizations
An organization is a shared space for a company or team. Each one has its own:
| Belongs to the organization | Examples |
|---|---|
| Members and their roles | Owners, administrators, developers |
| Plan and usage limits | The monthly allowance and the 5-hour and weekly windows |
| Billing | Payment method, invoices, usage credits, spend limits |
| Shared work | Projects, chats and files created while the organization is selected |
You can belong to several organizations at once, for example your personal workspace, your employer’s organization and a client’s.
Things to know
- Usage is never pooled across paid organizations. Each paid organization has its own allowance and its own credit balance.
- One Free organization per person. You can keep exactly one organization on the Free plan. Any further organization you create needs a paid plan, and Free organizations that belong to the same owner share one free allowance.
- Switching changes context. When you switch organization, the chat list in the sidebar changes to that organization’s chats. See Switch between organizations.
Not sure which organization you are in? Look at the workspace row near the top of the sidebar. It shows the organization name, then the project, separated by a slash.
