Use the API on an individual plan
Every paid Syntic plan includes API access. Your API requests share the plan’s monthly token allowance with everything else in the organization, such as chat and Syntic Code. The Free plan doesn’t include the API.
Which plans include the API
| Plan | API access | Monthly tokens shared across the organization |
|---|---|---|
| Free | No | 200,000 (chat only) |
| Starter | Yes | 2,000,000 |
| Business | Yes | 2,000,000 |
| Pro | Yes | 5,000,000 |
| Scale | Yes | 8,000,000 |
| Operations | Yes | 25,000,000 |
Prices and the rest of each plan are in Compare plans. Every paid plan currently includes all four API models; see Models and how to choose one.
How your requests are paid
- Your plan allowance first. While the 5-hour session, weekly and monthly windows all have room, requests cost nothing extra.
- Then API credit, if you turned usage credits on. Requests are paid from your prepaid balance at your plan’s overage rate.
- Otherwise the request is refused with
402 quota_exhausteduntil a window reopens.

Use an organization, not Personal
Most Console pages show data only when a real organization is selected. On Personal, pages such as Recharge reply “Select an organization first.” Open the first breadcrumb menu and pick your organization by name under Organizations.
Keep spend under control
- Leave usage credits off if you’d rather stop at the plan allowance.
- If they’re on, cap credit spending with the Monthly spend limit field on the Console’s Billing overview.
