The API Keys page
API Keys (under Organization in the Console menu) is where you create, review and revoke the keys your code uses to call the Syntic API. Its heading is API Key Management.
What the page shows
A note at the top names the organization the keys belong to. On Personal it says the keys are scoped to “your personal organization”. It also reminds you that keys are stored hashed and that you see each complete key a single time, when it’s made.
The table lists every key you can see:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name | The label you gave the key when you made it |
| Type | Private (server-side) or Public (browser SDK) |
| Key | The first characters of the key, enough to recognize it. The rest is never shown again. |
| Created | Date and time the key was made |
| Last used | When the key last made a request, or Never |
| Actions | Revoke |
When there are no keys yet, the table reads “No API keys yet”. If the list fails to load you will see “Couldn’t load API keys.” Reload the page; if it keeps happening, check status.syntic.ai.
Who sees which keys
Owners and administrators of the organization see every key in it. Members with the Developer role see the keys they created themselves.
What you can do here
- Create API Key (top right) opens the create form. Step-by-step: Create an API key.
- Revoke in a row turns that key off for good. See Revoke an API key.
There is no edit button. To change a key’s name, type or allowed origins, create a new key with the settings you want and revoke the old one. See Rotate an API key.
Same keys in the main Syntic app
The organization’s keys also appear in the main Syntic app under Settings → API Keys, split into Private API Keys and Public API Keys. A key made in one place shows up in the other, and revoking it in either place revokes it everywhere.
