Zero data retention

Zero data retention (ZDR) means a request’s content isn’t stored after it has been answered. At Syntic it applies in one place today: organizations in HIPAA-ready mode. Syntic does not offer zero data retention for the AI Call Center.

In HIPAA-ready mode

When an organization turns on HIPAA-ready mode, Syntic only lets it use models and features that can run without keeping data. Features that can’t, such as voice input and read-aloud, are switched off, and trying one shows a notice that it isn’t available in a HIPAA workspace.

AI Call Center

The AI Call Center is coming soon, so no calls are handled and no call recordings or transcripts are stored yet; see AI Call Center.

  • There is no zero-data-retention option for calls. The pricing page lists a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) add-on at +$1,000 per month: Proposed — not offered.
  • The same applies to the listed 60-day Call and Chat Data Retention add-on at +$1,000 per month: Proposed — not offered.
  • Retention periods and controls for call data will be published when the AI Call Center launches. Don’t plan regulated call workloads on Syntic until then.

For API developers

If your organization runs with zero data retention, some models may not be available to it. A request for such a model is refused before anything is billed, with a message that the model requires standard data retention. Choose another model. See Models and how to choose one.

Need zero data retention for your organization’s chats or API traffic outside HIPAA-ready mode? Ask sales@syntic.ai. It is not a self-serve option today.
