Out of credits or over your limit
When your plan’s usage allowance is used up and usage credits cannot cover more, Syntic stops new requests until a limit resets or you add capacity. The message tells you which limit you hit and, in most cases, when it resets. Your options are to wait for the reset, buy usage credits, raise your spend limit, or upgrade your plan.
Which limit did you hit?
| Message you see | Limit | Clears on its own? |
|---|---|---|
| ”You’ve reached your usage limit for now. It resets in a few hours” / “You’ve hit your 5-hour session usage limit.” | Session window (rolling 5 hours) | Yes, within a few hours |
| ”You’ve reached your weekly usage limit.” / “You’ve hit your weekly usage limit.” | Weekly window | Yes, at the weekly reset |
| ”You’ve used all your plan’s tokens for this month.” / “Your monthly plan token allowance is used up.” | Monthly allowance | Yes, at the start of next month (UTC) |
| “Your plan limit is reached and your usage-credit balance is empty.” | Usage credits ran out | No: buy credits, or wait for the plan limit to reset |
| ”You’ve reached your monthly usage-credit spend limit.” / “Your monthly usage-credit spend limit has been reached.” | Your organization’s spend limit on usage credits | No: raise the limit, or wait for next month |
| ”Your monthly member spend limit has been reached.” | A spend limit an admin set for you | No: ask an org admin to raise it, or wait for next month |
| ”This organization’s plan is inactive. Subscribe to activate.” | No active plan | No: fix billing first |
How the windows are sized is explained in How usage limits work.
Where you see it
A banner above the message box says You’ve reached your plan’s usage limit, followed by the reason and the reset date (for example “Resets Aug 1”). It has an Upgrade plan button. If the limit is a member spend limit set by your admin, there is also Request more usage, which notifies your admin.
Fix it
Wait for the reset
Session and weekly limits clear by themselves. The message or resets_at tells you when. The monthly allowance resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC).
Turn on usage credits
Usage credits let you keep going past your plan’s limits, charged to your card up to a monthly spend limit you choose. An owner or admin turns them on in Settings › Billing: switch on usage credits, then set a Monthly spend limit with Adjust limit. If there is no card on file, add one first.
Buy usage credits
If credits are on but the balance is empty, choose Buy usage credits in Settings › Billing, pick an amount, and choose Pay now. You can also turn on auto-reload so the balance tops up when it runs low. For API credit, use Recharge in the API Console.
Raise a spend limit
- Organization limit: an owner or admin opens Settings › Billing, chooses Adjust limit under the monthly spend limit, and sets a higher amount or Set to unlimited.
- Your member limit: only an org admin can change it. In the web app, use Request more usage on the banner.
Upgrade your plan
A higher plan has a bigger allowance and bigger windows. Choose Adjust plan in Settings › Billing, or Upgrade plan on the banner. See Compare plans.
“Usage can’t be verified right now” is not a limit. It means we could not check your usage for a moment, and nothing was charged. Try again shortly; see Usage can’t be verified.
