Syntic API FAQ

Short answers for developers using the Syntic API and Console.

Do I need a separate developer account?

No. Sign in to platform.syntic.ai with your normal Syntic account. See Sign in to the Console.

Can I use the API on the Free plan?

No. Creating keys and calling the API need a paid plan on the organization. See Use the API on an individual plan.

Do API calls cost extra on top of my plan?

Not at first. Requests use the organization’s plan allowance, shared with chat and Syntic Code. Once a usage window is full, they are paid from prepaid API credit if usage credits are on, or refused with 402 if not. See How API usage is billed.

What is the minimum credit purchase?

$25. Bonus credit starts at $100. See The Recharge page.

Which organization pays for a key’s requests?

The one that was selected when the key was created, no matter what you select later. See Switch organizations and projects.

Can I use client libraries made for other providers?

The API follows the OpenAI-compatible chat completions format, so many libraries work once you set the base URL and pass your Syntic key. See Base URL and authentication and the OpenAI-compatible SDK guide.

Why does the Playground give a placeholder reply?

It isn’t connected to live models yet, and it doesn’t use your credit. See The Playground.

How fast can I send requests?

Up to 600 requests per minute per key. For more, use Contact Sales → Increase Rate Limits. See Rate limits and quotas.

Is my API data used for training?

Syntic’s Privacy Policy and API Terms say API inputs and outputs are not used to train general Syntic models by default. See API security and privacy.
