Data retention
How long Syntic keeps something depends on what it is. Some deletions happen when you act; scheduled clean-up of older data is not switched on yet, so data can be kept longer than the periods shown in the app.
What you’ll see in the app
| What | What happens today |
|---|---|
| Files in the Library bin | The bin shows a 30-day countdown. Automatic permanent removal from the bin is not switched on yet, so files can stay longer |
| AI Staff and AI Agents you dismiss | Recoverable for 30 days |
| Data export download links | Expire 24 hours after the email is sent |
| Your account after you delete it | Closed at once, with 30 days to reactivate. See Delete your account for when data is removed |
| Verification codes and recovery codes | Email codes expire after 10 minutes; recovery codes last until used or replaced |
Automation run history
The history of workflow and agent runs (what ran, when and the result) has plan-based retention periods, but the automatic removal of older runs is not switched on yet. Run history is currently kept until it is deleted.
Conversations: admin retention setting
Organization admins can set a conversation retention period:
- Open Settings → Admin Settings (shown to admins only).
- Find Data Retention, “Auto-delete conversations after (days)”.
- Enter a number of days. Leave it empty for Never, which is the default.
Automatic daily deletion based on this setting is not switched on yet. To apply the policy, an admin of an organization with compliance settings can run Run Retention Cleanup, which deletes conversations older than the set number of days at that moment.
Billing records
Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after an account is deleted.
Everything else
The Privacy Policy says other personal data is kept as long as reasonably needed for the purposes it describes, then deleted or anonymised. For a question about a specific kind of data, email privacy@syntic.ai.
