Syntic Code FAQ

Short answers to the questions we get most about Syntic Code. Each one links to the article or docs page with the details.

Account and plan

Do I need a paid plan? Yes. Every paid plan from Starter up includes Syntic Code; the Free plan is refused. See Use Syntic Code with your individual plan.

Do I need an API key? No. You sign in with your Syntic account in the browser. API keys and tokens are only for CI and servers. See API keys and environment variables.

Does Syntic Code have its own allowance? No. It shares your plan’s token allowance with chat and the rest of Syntic. See Usage analytics and limits.

Can I use it on more than one computer? Yes. Once it is publicly available, install it and sign in on each one. The website’s Settings › API Access page lists every connected sign-in.

Does uninstalling cancel my plan? No. Your plan is managed on the website. See Uninstall Syntic Code.

Models and data

Which models can I use? Every paid plan currently includes all four: Syntic Code, Syntic Code Fast, Amara Deep and Amara S2. See Model configuration.

Can I connect models from other companies? No. Syntic Code runs on Syntic models only.

Is my code sent anywhere? The messages you send, and the files and command output the agent reads, go to the Syntic platform so the model can work. Conversations and backups stay on your computer. See Security and privacy.

Using it

Can it change files without asking me? Risky actions wait for your approval unless you choose a mode that skips prompts. Organizations can block those modes. See the permissions docs.

Can I undo what it did? Yes. Edits are backed up so you can rewind. See the checkpoints docs.

Does it work in my code editor? Run syntic in your editor’s built-in terminal. Dedicated editor extensions are not available yet.

Is there a browser or mobile version? Not yet. See Syntic Code on the web.

Does it work with a screen reader? Yes, with screen reader mode. See Use Syntic Code with a screen reader.

Updates and help

How do I update? Updates arrive with the public release. See Update Syntic Code.

Where do I report a bug? Type /feedback in a session to save a report on your computer, then send it through Contact support.
