API access for Team and Enterprise organizations
In a shared organization, every API key spends the organization’s allowance and credit, so access is controlled by role and by spend limits. Enterprise organizations can also arrange higher rate limits, invoiced billing and custom terms with our sales team.
Who can do what
| Role | Create keys | See and revoke keys | Buy API credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | Yes | All keys in the organization | Yes |
| Administrator | Yes | All keys in the organization | Yes |
| Developer | Yes | Only their own keys | No |
| Custom and other roles | No | No | Only if their groups grant billing management |
Members, roles and invitations are managed in the Syntic app under Settings → Members, not in the Console. See Roles and what each can do.
Limits on keys
Each member can hold 20 active keys per organization, and the organization can hold 100. Keys created by Syntic Code for members count toward the organization total. See Key limits and who can create keys.
Controlling spend
- Organization monthly spend limit: set on the Console’s Billing overview.
- Member and group spend limits: caps for individual people or groups. See Member and group spend limits.
- Usage credits off: requests stop at the plan allowance instead of using credit.
When someone leaves
Keys created by a suspended or removed member stop working. Create replacement keys under an account that stays before you offboard anyone who owns production keys. See Suspend, restore or remove a member.
